Overhead Linesman

We are currently seeking several qualified Distribution/Transmission Lineworkers from the UK to join a Tier 1 Contractor in Australia. Positions are available across various major cities and locations including Queensland and Perth.

Job Overview

The OH HV Lineman plays a crucial part in the optimisation of running networks and is key within in the Distribution and transmission team as a whole.

As a HV Linesman you will be responsible for making sure the network is maintained, adhering to Health & Safety guidelines, good work practice and procedures for both planned and maintenance works.

You will be required to uphold safe work practices for yourself and team members, duties include the identification and reporting of potential hazards and incidents. You will be expected to comply with company policy to uphold good safety standards at all times.

Rate of Pay

This is an excellent opportunity with Salary, benefits and package to be discussed on a individual basis as dependent on experience. However, you can expect excellent hourly rates, incentives for relocation and travel allowances as well as all training costs covered.

Requirements

• Applicants must hold suitable, up to date certifications in OH power system distribution/transmission (or equivalent)

• Demonstrable experience undertaking new installation work as well as maintenance for UK National Grid Infrastructure and electricity networks.

• Previous experience on substation, renewable energy projects (desirable)

• HV/LV cable jointing qualifications (desirable)

• HV switching experience (desirable)

• Rigging experience/ qualifications (desirable)

You will required to supply proof of your certifications and documentation when appropriate for visa application, travel arranegments and compliance purposes.

You must be willing to relocate from the UK to Work in Australia. This is a long term contract with an initial 6 Month contract.
